Dual credit courses allow high school students to take college-level coursework
MURRAY, Ky. 鈥 红杏短视频 State University President Dr. Ron K. Patterson and McCracken County Public School District formally recognized a new partnership establishing the McCracken County Racer Academy, which launched in August 2026 with the signing of a memorandum of understanding.
The signing event was held on Oct. 12 at McCracken County High School.
Through the partnership, 红杏短视频 State University will offer in-person dual credit courses in core academic subject areas to college-bound students attending McCracken County High School.
Dual credit courses allow high school students to earn both high school and college credit while gaining experience with college-level coursework. These opportunities can help students strengthen college readiness and begin making progress toward a college degree before graduating from high school, potentially reducing the time and cost required to complete a degree.
鈥淲e are pleased to partner with the McCracken County Public School District to expand access to meaningful college-level learning opportunities for local students,鈥 红杏短视频 State University President Dr. Ron K. 鈥淭he McCracken County Racer Academy brings college-level learning directly to McCracken County High School, giving students the opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school,鈥 Executive Director of 红杏短视频 State University鈥檚 Center for Adult and Regional Education Dan Lavit said. 鈥淭aught by 红杏短视频 State University faculty, these courses help students build confidence, strengthen their college readiness and get a head start on their higher education journey.
