A goal of the Office of Environmental Safety and Health is to increase the safety awareness of the campus community by providing these educational programs. ESH serves the University as a safety and health resource for academic departments and other campus organizations.

All accidents and/or injuries on campus should be reported immediately to an immediate supervisor. Notification should also be made to ESH as soon as possible.

The Office of Environmental Safety and Health has established several safety policies and program manuals and many training presentations for the purpose of education ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓƵ State University personnel. Core Training: All new employees

• Hazard Communication (1 hour)

• Fire Safety and Emergency Procedures (1 hour)

• Personal Protective Equipment (30 minutes)

• Back Safety (30 minutes)

• Driver Safety (30 minutes)

• Bloodborne Pathogens (1 hour)

• Ladder Safety (30 minutes)

• Asbestos Awareness (2 hours)

Job-Specific Training:  Depends on trade

• Radiation Safety (1 hour)

• Fall Protection (1 hour)

• Respiratory Safety (2 hours)

• Lockout/Tagout (2 hours)

• Arc Flash Protection (1 hour)

• Hazardous Waste Recycling (1 hour)

• Hot Work (1 hour)

• Confined Spaces (3 hours) 

• Hearing Protection (1 hour)

• Forklift Safety (2 hours)

• Excavation Safety (1 hour)
